musical moments

Some of my fondest memories are surrounded by music.  When I think of road trips with Dad growing up, we were always singing. In the house, Mom sang to us more than she talked.  Imagine this, "Time for dinner pumpkin heads," in song.  Even my lasts memories with Grandpa had him belting out in random irish songs or old songs that I couldn't believe he knew all the words to still.   I'm still amazed that Dad knows all the words to the "Name song." The other day we were at our neighbors house and Mika discovered a toy microphone.  She immediately found a step stool, made it a stage, and proceeded to sing "Gerber Peas."  A barbershop song Dad was practicing when he visited.

Dad and Mika jamming on the ukelele has to be one of my favorite moments! Our neighbor Sachi let Dad borrow his vintage Martin Uke.
