new years 2012

I guess I'm a little behind since I'm blogging about New Years and it's almost March!  Better late than never I suppose.   Thanks to a little karaoke inspired evening from our Christmas gift from Yaya, our new year was full of singing and fun with our friends Tamara, Woody and Rogan.  We watched the ball drop East Coast time, so then when we fell asleep before New Year we wouldn't feel as guilty.  And by "we" I mean me.  Everyone else was still singing. :D 

On new years day we got to have some traditional Japanese new years food at Dean and Trish Kiyohara's house. (Mom's cousins- they live in Kailua too!)  The food was amazing and it was so nice to see some family.  Trish recently saved a little bunny rabbit that was abandoned and Mika really enjoyed the bunny!  And if you notice behind Justin in the last picture- that is the ocean! So cool!  Fishermen were walking by the window and waves crashing behind the house.  And it was just a few houses away from where Obama and his family were staying.
