This is what my leg looked like for a while. The blue thing plugs into an ice water machine that keeps a steady flow of cold water going around my knee. See how much fun Mom is having? Good times were had by all. :) I'm down to the knee brace, and tomorrow I'm hoping to be relieved from the brace as well. It'll be over a year til I will play any sport with pivoting, but today I was able to walk 3-4 miles at a brisk long legged Justin pace.
The surgery wasn't too painful. If you ever need knee surgery, I highly recommend the regional block. You don't feel anything for 18-24 hours. I didn't get sick because the doctor didn't do general anesthesia. The Doctor said the meniscus healed in the two places that it tore. So, I now have a cadavar tendon, and he "cleaned up" a bunch of cartilage that tore when we think it dislocated. Who knows. All in all, it was as smooth as it could go. The hardest part was not being able to hold mika or care for her for a while.
Kei looks worried and tired. It must have been rough.
