cake time.

A year ago right now, we were driving around in the subaru and I was in labor. I think today was a much easier day. We had the best weekend! Kristen and Ray visited from New York City and Mika just LOVES them. (we think they are alright too) She was actually pretty upset any time they left the room and waited somewhat patiently outside of the bathroom door while Kristen showered. I'll post more pics of the weekend later...it's a whole blog entry on it's own!

I'm pretty tired and will be having a bunch of kiddos over for a birthday playdate tomorrow... buuuut I couldn't wait to post the following photos!

Some background: Mika LOVED being sung the birthday song. It took Amelia putting frosting on her lip to get her to understand the YUMMINESS of cupcakes. (she actually didn't get much in her mouth) Mika would not wear the birthday hat, so our friend Woody held it over her head for the photo. She wouldn't wear her hair bow either. After she slimed her hands with frosting she decided to make sure nobody tricked her and put a bow or hat on her head. Thus the hair full of icing. I have like 30 pictures of different faces she made, but these are my favorites. And lastly... apparantly it's the new thing to have a white icing goatee. Hunter is in on the latest trend.

All in all a fabulous weekend. Definitely beats being in labor.

p.s. do you think I missed my calling as PROFESSIONAL cupcake icer? mmmhmmmm

  1. Happy Birthday Mika! You are 1 year old and so mature for your age! Don't grow up too fast, so we can get to enjoy you. Be good to your Mommy and Daddy, have fun and not take things too seriously!! I am not sure how its possible to do that at the same time but you guys will figure that out. Papa (aka J_gichan)
