Our first home together, our first year of marriage... my first dose of reality of Navy wife life... Portland, Maine. It took me a while to get out of my "I miss NYC with a serious passion depression" but we made amazing friends, fell in love with the area, and even got some good powder skiing in! By the time we left, Justin even started to suggest retiring in Maine one day.
The first photo is our lobster fishing adventure. The lobster boat left from almost directly out the front of our building. We got to set traps and learn all about the business.
The next photo is of some of our awesome volleyball friends. Maine wouldn't have been the same without the volleyball people. Next Photo- wine tasting with said volleyball peoples. Next shot- top of saddleback with some non-volleyball friends. Friends of Justin's awesome flight surgeon- Meg.
We had snow higher than the door in the last photo. Apparently, a record snow fall happened the one winter we lived in Maine. It was 2 days before Christmas and I was driving alone to the DC area. Anxiety was setting in. Justin was overseas. It was a rough first holiday season without him. I also learned quickly that I like skiing one thousand times better with Justin. Even when he wears his ear buds. ;)
